Our friendly community is nestled between the beautiful four-lake city of Madison and Wisconsin Dells, one of the Midwest’s favorite tourist attractions. On the northern edge of world class agricultural land of the Arlington Prairie and a few miles east of the mighty Wisconsin River and beautiful Lake Wisconsin. Poynette is a nature lover’s destination. No matter the time of year, Lake Wisconsin offers plenty to do; boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, ice fishing, snowmobile races and more. Our natural landscapes include area parks and walking trails to the pristine waters of Rowan Creek winding through our town.
The town jewel is the MacKenzie Center; a 500-acre property featuring nature trails, wildlife exhibits, museums, picnics and more. Throughout the year school buses bring children from around the state to experience this unique environmental education center. Families and friends from all over attend the spring pancake breakfast, the fall festival and all sorts of other activities all year long.
The Poynette Area Chamber of Commerce is a group of local businesses, professionals and residents who meet regularly, and work together to coordinate community events, build relationships, and encourage a cohesive environment. The PACC coordinates various events, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Golf Outing (supporting the high school scholarship fund), Christmas in the Village events, Warm Welcome Bags, and more."The Mission of the Poynette Area Chamber of Commerce is to serve, support, and promote our businesses and members to cultivate a prosperous community."
