Poynette Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes for Monday April 14th, 2008
After getting our lunch from the buffet made by Cloe’s Coffee & Tea Room. (coffee & tea compliment of the chamber) President Dick Emerson called the meeting to order at 12:15.
Introductions made by all present, 14 people attending, including 3 guests. Sue Jones and Randy Krause represented the Poynette Area Gardening Association. Dennis Linn, Poynette Village Administrator was also in attendance.
Treasurer’s report read;
The Scholarship that last month was outstanding, is now paid.
Minutes of the March 10th 2008 were read, Motion made by Lonna Zeman, 2nd by Lynn Auclair to accept as read.
Unfinished business:
Annual Easter Egg Hunt March 22nd report. It was a success. The report is available for any member (request a copy) and will serve as a guideline for the 2009 egg hunt.
The Spring Fling Garage sales May 16-17 discussion: the Chamber sponsors the event. This year we want to have garage sale signs with Poynette Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber website listed on the signs. There was discussion whether to include the chamber website, however the basic site should be built by May 1ST so the decision was to go ahead to include the website on the signs.
Motion made by Garry Gill, 2nd by Lynn Auclair to include:
1. 200 garage signs made by Ken’s Duplicating ($45.00).
2. A sign for Hwy. 51 to direct people to the Poynette Spring Fling Garage Sales
made by Ron Jordak, PHS art students, $40.00 or less cost.
3. Ad for the Poynette Chamber will be in the Spring Fling ad on the front page of
the Poynette Shopper and the back page of the Poynette Press.
Motion approved. Kathy Saager, Bank of Poynette, continues to take registrations for the garage sales and then take them over to the Press.
